Wildberries is a free shopping application from developer Wildberries LLC. It's the official companion app for the Russian online retailer and e-commerce platform of the same name. Through it, shoppers are able to browse and purchase a variety of goods ranging from groceries to electronics, and many others.
Much like Amazon Shopping or CityMall, Wildberries makes it easy for anyone to shop for their favorite products and other essentials anywhere and anytime using their smartphone or tablet. The platform also offers promotions and discounts on specific items on a regular basis for even better deals and cash savings.
Russia's Amazon
When it comes to online shopping and e-commerce, in general, Amazon is the most popular and renowned player in the space, servicing shoppers all over the world. However, there is still some region where it's not available, so others have stepped in to fill the obvious needs of customers in those locations. In the case of Russia, that role is being held by the country's largest online retailer, Wildberries.
Wildberries caters to customers from 20 countries worldwide and boasts next-day deliveries where they're applicable and possible. It's home to more than 255 million products across over 210,000 brands to peruse and purchase from. It analyzes your past transactions to offer a curated selection of deals and promotions to improve the shopping experience and make the most out of the platform.
Some of the things you can expect to browse include electronics and appliances, food and beverages, and clothes. For the latter, there are over 90,000 distribution points set up in key locations with fitting rooms. That said, the app itself is quite unintuitive to navigate and use. Also, if you run into issues with your orders, the platform's customer support is poor and unhelpful, to put it simply.
Subpar shopping experience
All in all, despite being the largest and most popular online retailer in Russia, Wildberries still needs to do a lot more work on its app to offer a better experience to shoppers. Not to mention, the simply unreliable customer service that doesn't help in resolving issues at all. Until these things are addressed, it's hard to recommend this application to new users.
